Sankofa Community Lectures
Inspired by the Akan term Sankofa, which means “go back and get it,” Sankofa at KSMoCA is a community-centered lecture series that aims to expose students to various careers in the arts and introduce them to BIPOC arts professionals living and working in Portland, Oregon.
The lectures take place in the library of Dr. MLK Jr. School three times a school year. Kiara Hill, PhD curates the series. Dr. Hill is the James DePriest Visiting Professor at Portland State University.
